Only 15 cacao varietals have been designated as Heirloom: the best of the best. Heirloom Designee No. 11 is a pure criollo cacao grown at BFREE in Belize and crafted into chocolate by Jacob Marlin with my assistance.
Though low in sugar, this chocolate has a distinct caramel nuttiness and is naturally sweet; a hint of candied Buddha's Hand Citron makes it sparkle. There is no trace of bitterness.
The BFREE demonstration farm is located on a 1153 acre private reserve that borders 1,500,000 acres of tropical rainforest within the Maya Mountains of southern Belize. Numerous cacao varieties are grown organically under a tall tropical rainforest canopy where wildlife abounds including Jaguars, Tapirs, Howler Monkeys, Harpy Eagles, Scarlet Macaws, and countless other species of wildlife.
Each HCP No.11 Bar weighs about 35g / 1.23oz and is packaged in an elegant Lokta paper box, handmade for us in Nepal.
Contains cacao beans, sugar, cocoa butter, candied Buddha's Hand citron, and tinted mica lustre dust (for color). Produced in a facility that processes flour and nuts.
